Rocket Lab Corporation (Nasdaq: RKLB) announced a new multi-year launch agreement with Tokyo-based Earth observation company Synspective for 20 additional Electron missions, the largest single commercial Electron contract the company has signed to date. The launches will take place annually from 2028 through 2031.
Each of the 20 missions will carry a Synspective StriX synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite to sun-synchronous orbit from Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1. The new agreement brings Synspective's total contracted missions with Rocket Lab to 47, making it the largest customer by mission count for the Electron rocket. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"When constellation builders want control over their destiny, they come to Rocket Lab," said Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab.
Dr. Motoyuki Arai, founder and CEO of Synspective, said: "Electron's precision and reliability have played a central role in steadily scaling our StriX constellation."
The deal is the latest in a series of multi-launch contracts Rocket Lab has secured this year, and it pushes the company's total launch backlog beyond 100 missions. Synspective's StriX satellites use synthetic aperture radar to collect high-resolution imagery independent of cloud cover or lighting conditions, supporting applications such as infrastructure monitoring, disaster response and urban development.
