Phase One Unveils Next-Generation Aerial Systems Architecture

GIM InternationalOct 8, 2026

Phase One has launched its Next-Generation Aerial Systems architecture, a modular platform aimed at the growing complexity of aerial mapping, inspection and geospatial production, GIM International reported. The company says operators are being asked to capture more detail, fly more efficiently, reduce re-flight risk and deliver data faster, and the new platform is designed to evolve with those requirements.

A modular, best-in-class architecture

The system combines Phase One's high-resolution camera and processing workflow components with mission planning, navigation and flight management software, alternative IMU technology, climatized system housing, and hybrid motion compensation (HMC) features intended to reduce motion blur during high-speed capture. The architecture supports the company's iXM-FS130 and iXM-RS250 based three-band and four-band solutions and is designed to support additional camera configurations as the platform evolves.

Built with strategic partners

The platform was co-developed with IGI and incorporates technology from Applanix for IMU systems and Somag for stabilized mounts. "Our customers are being asked to do more with every flight. They need higher productivity, greater flexibility and confidence that their systems can adapt to changing mission requirements," said Arne Dehn, CEO of Phase One. "With our Next-Generation Aerial Systems, we have created a modular and highly integrated platform built on the belief that customers benefit from the best technologies working together."

Phase One said existing system components, including its iX Suite software portfolio of iX Plan, iX Flight Pro and iX Process, remain part of the current product line to support continuity for existing customer workflows and investments.
