GIS Cloud, the online mapping technology scaleup, announced that it has doubled its user growth as AI capabilities let organizations expand access to geospatial data without relying more heavily on specialist GIS teams. The company says more than 100 new users are now joining every day through organic channels alone, bringing its total reach to more than 220,000 users across 30-plus industries and 60-plus countries, with over two million maps created to date.
To support that growth, GIS Cloud has launched GIS Cloud AI, which lets users work with maps and spatial data using plain-language prompts. The company has also built an MCP server and connectors for ChatGPT and Claude, bringing geospatial data directly into AI tools users already work with. More than 50,000 interactions have been recorded through the GIS Cloud AI assistant so far, including its AI Form Fill capability, which the company says lets field teams complete forms in seconds rather than minutes.
"Many organisations run on location data, but for decades using it meant going through a small group of specialists and desktop tools. AI has removed that bottleneck. People can now ask questions of their maps and data in plain language and get answers in seconds, which is why more than a hundred new users are arriving every day," said Dino Ravnic, co-founder and CEO at GIS Cloud.
GIS Cloud's customers now include ASTERRA, Pipe View America and InfraTrace. ASTERRA has adopted the platform to connect satellite-based intelligence with action on the ground, helping utilities detect and verify underground water leaks through its U-Collect mobile application, with deployments from Brazil to the Philippines. GIS Cloud is also expanding into the UK public sector following its selection for the G-Cloud 15 framework, and holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certification.
